Halve Your Stress Double Your Energy
Halve Your Stress Double Your Energy
If you’re constantly under stress, your body keeps running on adrenal line, sapping energy reserves and causing problems such as:
- Persistent tiredness
- Listlessness and apathy
- Frequent headaches
- Pains in shoulders, neck and back
- Fluctuating blood sugar, making you reach for caffeine or sugary snacks.
If you regularly see two or more of these symptoms, your stress and energy levels are out of sync. These strategies help you redress the balance.
What’s stealing your energy?
As well as stress, there may be other Factors contributing to your tiredness.
Iron deficiency, even when it hasn’t become anemia, is far more widespread than nutritionists used to believe. According to the National Family Health Survey, 50 percent of Indians are anemic, with women more prone to it. Some degree of anemia afflicts 52 percent of Indian women, a figure that drops to a still-high 42 percent even for those with a higher standard of living; 61 percent of children (3-6 years) are anemic even in better-off house-holds.
Iron deficiency is the single most widespread form of malnutrition over the world, affecting over two billion. It leaves you feeling lethargic, slightly breathless (like a yawn you can’t finish) and generally exhausted. But it is easily remedied.
In a recent American study, women who took iron supplements for 16 weeks performed significantly better in mental tasks than those who did not.
