BACKACHE IN WOMEN
BACKACHE IN WOMEN
^This practice continues throughout life. Gradually, over the years, this places strain on the joints and muscles of the back and the result is pain/
Lifting heavy weights also causes similar strain and can even cause a slipped disc and other problems of the bones. As middle-age approaches, this problem becomes strain on the lumbar spine. During pregnancy, calcium is depleted from the bones to provide nutrition to the growing foetus. In this situation unless calcium is supplemented, the bones tend to become weak. The process of delivery causes strain to the lumbosacral spine.
These 2 factors together lead to backache after delivery. The more the number of pregnancies, the greater is the problem of backache unless calcium is supplemented.
The calcium requirement is also increased during the 2 changing phases of life, that is, adolescence and menopause. If this requirement is not fulfilled through diet or calcium supplements, the bones become weak.
