ALTERNATE OIL USAGE:
In case you are unable to blend your oil, you can use the following oils alternately, rotating them month by month:
“Mustard oil: Has a good fatty acid composition in general, but has a high erucic acid {considered bad for the heart) level. Or try
Canola oil: Genetically engineered mustard oil without the erucic acid, it’s a good choice as a sole cooking medium. However, contrary to popular belief, canola oil cannot be called the ‘best choice’ - no single oil can.
 • Olive oil: Has a high MUFA content and now is easily available in the Indian market. It is one of the most heat-stable oils, unless you use ‘extra virgin’, which should ideally be only added “raw” for flavour and not used as a cooking medium. However, its high cost offsets its advantages.
Replace fats: Global studies have proved that by replacing just five percent of saturated fats with MUFA and PUFA options in your diet, you cut the risk of coronary artery diseases by almost 40 percent.Â
