WHAT IS REIKI? AN OVERVIEW
WHAT IS REIKI? AN OVERVIEW
Reiki is an ancient Japanese hands-on healing modality based on the transference of vital energy. Reiki is activated by touch, so applying Reiki is as simple as placing the hands on oneself or another. This transference of healing energy occurs once the individual has received an alignment to the Reiki lineage and system. This alignment is called an attunement or initiation. A Reiki teacher, someone who is qualified to give such a transmission, facilitates this attunement. Attunement or initiation into Reiki is a necessary step, as this allows an alignment with the Reiki frequency. With this  alignment  our energy  merges  with  the  Reiki energy and we become a conduit or channel, much like a radio being tuned to a station. With this open, the initiate has the energy available which may  then be applied for healing effects to numerous situations.
Reiki is applied via the hands, the practitioners of Reiki simply place their hands on the correspond in chakras, meridians and organs, transferring healing energy to the recipient. The result is a deeply relaxing experience for both the healer and the person receiving.
No movement is required when giving a treatment and it is also not necessary to remove clothing or to fix the mind in deep focus to achieve its healing effects.
When we consider that energy is the foundation of all life, it makes sense that if we have more energy constantly available to us, the natural by-product of this is a gradual enhancement of our health and personal well-being. So, it is by the transference of Reiki healing, there is a noticeable increase in the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
