GET SET TO BEAT JET 1AG

Jet lag can ruin the beginning of a holiday or make you ineffective at the meeting or seminar you travel so far to attend. But you can nullify its effects with a little care.
People, who travel across the globe frequently, suffer from chronic fatigue, irritability, depression, headaches and loss of memory. This condition is called jet lag syndrome.
Can jet lag be prevented?
It is impossible to totally eliminate jet lag. However, there are many ways of making the transition across time zones as comfortable as possible. Some general precautions you can take are:
♦ Keep you well hydrated. The air aboard a passenger jet is dry. Drinking plenty of water helps and some passengers often carry extra water along. Colas and juices are not recommended.
♦ set your clock to the new time zone before you fly. This gives your mind more time to prepare for the local time of your destination.
♦ Get adequate rest before you fly. Some executives prefer to work till the last minute and feel they can use the flight to make up sleep this never works as the quality of sleep suffers during the flight and then the adjustment to the new time takes longer.
♦ Programme your flights flying during the daytime makes it easier for your body to adjust to the new time zone. Westward travel is easier to adapt to than eastward travel.
♦ Keep you active during the flight and make use of stopovers to take some kind of exercise like a brisk walk. Even while sitting try to get circulation in the legs and hands going briskly by doing simple exercises.
♦ Avoid alcohol during the flight this makes it especially difficult for your body to adjust to new time zones. The same applies to caffeinated beverages like coffee and, to some extent, to tea.
♦ some people find that taking a warm bath immediately after arrival at the destination is very helpful.
