OBLIGATION TO MEDICINE BUDDHA

Usui writes….

We have talked about obligation and the necessity for its application in daily life as well as in the practice of the healing arts. There are two primary obligations I wish to mention. And for us they should be those two obligations that are the most important in our lives.
The first: Our obligation as healers to Medicine King Buddha. From Medicine King Buddha all healing energy, whether allopathic, naturopathic, homeopathic, or spiritual, flows. He is the fountain from which flow the streams of solace, healing, and comfort for all beings. He is the bright noonday sun whose gentle rays dispel darkness, ignorance, and suffering. He is the moon whose gentle luminosity brings solace and comfort to the careworn and show travelers in the darkness of night that path wherein they should walk. He is the great mountain of compassion that can be seen by all beings from wherever they look. To behold him they must simply turn their eyes to him.
He is the ocean of wisdom who bathes those who would plunge into him with knowledge and instruction. He is the perfect enlightened energy whose lapis lazuli radiance sheds its gentle glow throughout Samsara. It is he who will lead us by the practice of the discipline of healing and through the merit gained there from bestows perfect enlightenment. He is our guide on the path and we have no surer guide among Gods or men. He can only work for our benefit, not our harm, engaging only in actions which lead to assistance and healing.
