Skin Care
CLEANSING: Summer leaves skin oily and grimy, pores clogged. The skin’s natural oils, which become viscous in winter, flow freely in warm weather.
Splash your face with water frequently preferably mineral water -just make sure the waters neither too hot nor too cold (extreme temperatures may cause fine veins to appear on your face).
For dry to normal skin, use plain water, followed by cleansing milk applied directly on face and wiped off with damp cotton. Good options:
- Boutique’s Bio-Barberry Lotion
- Lakme’s Deep Pore Cleansing Milk
- Nivea Visage Refreshing Cleansing Milk
- Shahnaz’s Shacleanse Rehydrant Cleanser.
“Oily skin needs a gentle face wash or gel. If you must use soap, a non-abrasive glycerin type is best. A harsher soap wipes out skin oils completely, which may backfire — oil glands then go into overdrive, producing more sebum to make up for what they interpret as “deficiency”! Follow up with a cleansing milk (pick a light, free-flowing one). Finally rinse and pat your face dry.
Good options:
- Lakme Strawberry Silk Splash Face Wash
- EverYuth Lemon Face Wash
- Nomarks Face Wash Gel
- Biotique’s Bio-Pine Gel
- Glycerine soaps from Pears, Margo or Khadi Gram Udyog.
Kitchen cosmetics:
Dip a slice of brown bread in milk and rub gently on your face for three minutes; removes dirt and grime without drying.
