Putting It All Together: Cross-Training
Trainers helpkeep clients out of a rut, and the way they do that is by emphasizing cross-training. Think of it as mix-and-match exercising of various types: aerobic and strength training, indoor exercises and outdoor sports, strength training using weight machines and free weights, working in the gym and running, workouts, aquatic and dryland exercises, running and bicycling, or any other pair or combination of complementary activities. Cross-training combats boredom, prevents injury from repetitive motions,and enhances your overall fitness. Trainers are very big on cross-training.
