BEAUTY QUERIES

I am only 20 years old and unless I apply a cream immediately after my shower, it starts itching and if I scratch my arms or legs, it leaves ugly long marks.
Your skin seems to be very dry. As a result, if you apply a cream immediately after shower, the moisture locks in with the help of the dampness of the skin. When the skin is already dry, it remains on the surface only. It might be a good idea to change your soap to a milder quality, preferably with moisture. Apply body scrub before shower to make your skin softer.
Also, keep your moisturiser in your bathroom, so you make a habit of using it the moment you have showered and your skin is still damp. Olive oil is a good natural moisturiser. Adding aromatherapy oil to your bath water will also soften your skin and nourish it.
I am in my 30s and am fair-complexioned.
The skin on my cheeks is dry but I cannot use a cream
As the forehead, nose and chin are quite oily. How can I care for all areas of my face?
What you have described is the classic T-zone of a human face. Those areas are oily in most women because the oil glands are more active there than on cheeks and neck.
Using an astringent before a shower and a toner after washing a face would be helpful. Also, you will find specific beauty products for your skin type.
For a home pack mix one egg white mix with multani mitti (fuller’s earth) and apply on the oily portion. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Then wash it off and use fresh tomato juice as an astringent. Do this twice a week for good results.
My feet are so badly cracked that I am ashamed. I read some¬where that glycerin and lemon Juice are helpful in such a situation. But even the application of these on my heel has not improved their condition. Do you have a real solution?
As we wear open sandals in India and the dust is present everywhere, feet are worst affected. Soak your feet in hot water to which a tablespoonful of salt and a few drops of any oil have been added.
When the water gets cold, rub the hard skin with either a pumice-stone or a metal scrubber for removing dead skin. Mix equal amount of curd and vinegar, and rub this mixture like cream in your feet. Leave it on for a few minutes and then wash in lukewarm water.
This treatment is best done in the evening. Then apply your glycerin and lemon juice, but add a few drops of olive oil or castor oil to it. Avoid using a cream on your feet just before stepping out as that increases the accumulation of dust. This should improve the condition of your cracked heels.
