Menchhos Reiki
Menchhos Reiki (MEDICINE DHARMA REIKI)
Menchhos Reiki (pronounced ‘Men-choo), is the name given to the actual Buddhist form of Reiki that Usui caught prolifically in japan before his death in 1926.
Lama Yeshe Trinley Odzer, the Ninth Drugmar rin-poche, gave the name to the system to convey the meaning of this sacred medicine teaching.
Since much of the material derived from Usui’s original manuscript is of early Indian Mahayana and Vajrayana origin the material was given a Tibetan name. The meaning of ‘Menchhos’ is broken into two parts; Men - medicine or healing, and Chhos supreme teachings or Dharma.
Essentially, Menchhos Reiki is largely derived from the Indian, Tibetan and Shingon Buddhist traditions. It is a hand on healing system with the direct transmission coming from the emanation of Medicine Buddha or ‘Yakushi’, in Japan.
Medicine Buddha the supreme Buddha of healing and, when properly invoked, can grant supernatural healing and empower the practitioner to propagate these healing works on the physical plane.
