LOOKING GOOD AND BEING HEALTHY
LOOKING GOOD AND BEING HEALTHY
You embark on any exercise programme first check out these points.
Get a physical:
Get your general physician to do a medical check-up, clearing you for whatever exercise plan you have opted for.
Couple up:
Find a like-minded friend, relative or colleague who is as keen as you to shed extra body fat by starting on a sensible fitness plan. When you have company, the motivation and will power are stronger. Also there is silent pressure on you to be regular.
Say, for instance, if you have decided to take a 40-minute brisk walk around your colony at 6 am and have another friend who has agreed to do the same, then chances of your absenteeism are far lower than if you were to do it by yourself.
Another fringe benefit is that the exercise becomes more interesting and less tedious. Why most people stop exercising after the initial determination wears off is because they begin to find it boring and exhausting.
When you have interesting company the mind gets diverted and it becomes easier to keep the exercise up. What you can do is to identify an exercising companion who is more motivated and energised than you yourself are
Warm up:
Warming up and stretching yourself with simple exercises is an absolute must before you embark on your exercise. This increases blood circulation in muscles, making them pliable and less prone to injury.
